This drug should be used during pregnancy only if clearly needed.

US FDA pregnancy category: B

Comments:
-This is the preferred product if chelation is needed in pregnancy.

Animal studies have shown no evidence of impaired fertility or harm to the fetus, although there was a slight decrease in the average birth weight. There are no controlled data in human pregnancy.

US FDA pregnancy category B: Animal reproduction studies have failed to demonstrate a risk to the fetus and there are no adequate and well-controlled studies in pregnant women.
