Yersinia ruckeri Bacterin

Concentrate for dip, suspension for Atlantic salmon

Read the package leaflet before use. For dip vaccination.

For veterinary use only.

Description

A yersiniosis vaccine containing formaldehyde inactivated bacterial culture of Yersinia ruckeri, serotype O1b.

ALPHA ERM Salar Indications

ALPHA ERM Salar is recommended for use as an aid in the prevention of Yersiniosis caused by Yersinia ruckeri serotype O1b in healthy Atlantic salmon.

Directions For Use

For dip vaccination. To reduce stress, the vaccine suspension should keep the same temperature as the water in the tank where the fish are kept. The vaccine must be diluted immediately after opening and the diluted vaccine should be used immediately.

A better effect has been seen in studies when the basic vaccination consists of two vaccinations rather than one single vaccination. The following dip vaccination scheme is recommended:

First vaccination:

For fish weighing approximately 3 g.

Shake the bottle before use. Mix 1 litre (1 bottle) concentrated vaccine with 40 litres fresh water (1:40 dilution). Immerse the fish in the diluted vaccine for 1 minute. Immerse maximum 240 kg fish per 40 litres diluted vaccine.

Second vaccination:

For fish weighing approximately 9 g.

Shake the bottle before use. Mix 1 litre (1 bottle) concentrated vaccine with 40 litres fresh water (1:40 dilution). Immerse the fish in the diluted vaccine for 1 minute. Immerse maximum 400 kg fish per 40 litres diluted vaccine.

Cautions:

1. Vaccination at a water temperature of 12°C is recommended.

2. Immunity is achieved gradually after vaccination. With vaccination according to the recommended vaccination regime, full protection is achieved no later than 994 degree days after the first vaccination.

3. Fish with signs of clinical disease shall not be vaccinated.

4. Do not vaccinate within 21 days prior to slaughter.

5. After vaccination wash the equipment used for vaccination thoroughly.

6. There are no known side effects.

7. No information is available on the safety and efficacy of vaccine when used with any other veterinary medicinal product. A decision to use this vaccine before or after any other veterinary medicinal product therefore needs to be made on a case-by-case basis.

8. This veterinary medicinal product has not been tested in compatibility studies and should not be mixed with other veterinary medicinal products.

9. Any unused veterinary medicinal product or waste materials derived from such veterinary medicinal product should be disposed of in accordance with local requirements.

10. Keep out of the reach of children.

Precautions for people handling the veterinary medicinal product:

Personal protective equipment consisting of gloves and goggles should be used when handling the veterinary medicinal product. If you get vaccine concentrate or dilution on the skin or in the eyes, rinse immediately with clean water.
