PORCINE REPRODUCTIVE & RESPIRATORY SYNDROME VACCINE

Reproductive and Respiratory Form, Modified Live Virus

This product has been shown to be effective for the vaccination of healthy swine 3 weeks of age or older against respiratory form of the disease caused by Porcine Reproductive and Respiratory Syndrome (PRRS) virus and for the vaccination of female breeding age swine against reproductive disease caused by PRRS virus. Duration of immunity against reproductive form of the disease is at least 20 weeks. Duration of immunity against respiratory form of the disease is at least 23 weeks. ADMINISTRATION/DOSAGE: Aseptically rehydrate Prime Pac™ PRRS RR with the diluent supplied. Sows and gilts: Inject a single 1 mL dose intramuscularly (IM) 8 weeks prior to breeding. Piglets: Inject a single 1 mL dose IM at 3 weeks of age or older. For advice on revaccination frequency, contact your veterinarian.

PREPARATION OF THE VACCINE

1. Do not rehydrate the vaccine until ready for use.

2. Mix only one set of vials at a time and use entire contents promptly after rehydration.

3. Using a sterile transfer needle, transfer the entire contents of sterile diluent into the bottle of freeze dried vaccine and shake the combined vaccine and diluent to suspend evenly. The vaccine is now ready for use.

Prime Pac PRRS RR Caution

Vaccine virus can shed and be transmitted to other populations of swine in direct or indirect contact with vaccinated swine. The duration of potential vaccine virus transmission may vary. Non-vaccinated pigs in contact with modified live PRRS-vaccinated pigs may seroconvert to vaccine virus. Use of the vaccine in herds intended to remain PRRS virus seronegative is contraindicated. Introduction of vaccinated pigs into herds intended to remain PRRS virus seronegative is contraindicated.

Store at 2° to 8°C (35° to 46°F). Use aseptic technique and only sterile needles and syringes to inject the vaccine. Use entire contents when first opened. Do not mix with other products, except as specified on the label. Inactivate unused contents before disposal. Do not vaccinate within 21 days before slaughter. Not for use in pregnant sows or boars. If allergic response occurs, administer epinephrine. In case of human exposure, contact a physician.
